Raining...again ?

Raining...again ?

Sorry I really didn't want to write about rain during the end of May ! What has happened to the weather, I have been in and out with washing, the first glimpse of sun and the washer is on . The other day the sun was shining and I more or less dragged a jacket off my husband's back so I could put all the quilted jackets in one wash. by the time it had reached the last spin there was a cloud over the house like Armageddon. I will gladly pay whatever the cost for any electrical appliance BUT the drier I am inexplicably mean...meaner than mean, no idea why ! So you can understand my dilema ...rain and more rain means I have to have the dryer on . I stand in front of it and keep opening the door checking to see if things are dry- which my husband says is self defeating...I know !! but can not help it working from home brings new problems I should go to the launderette and keep to selling handbags.

Lipstick Dilemma

Lipstick Dilemma

Well we are hopefully going to return to some semblance of normality very soon...hooray for that. Wearing "Cosy Joe" clothing {anything with an elastic waist and is only just a style step up from a baby grow} has to be a fashion leap in the right direction. What have I missed? LIPSTICK!  Those of you who know me, know that I am rarely if ever seen without a shade of colour to my lips. Wearing a mask you would presume would have forced me to keep my varied lipsticks {over 20 at the last count} in the dressing table drawer. NOT A CHANCE!!

I have persevered with the Cardinal Red/ Flamingo Pink/ Treacle Toffee/ Ibiza Nights et al. Do I care that the inside of my mask looks like I have had a thump to the lips? Not a bit of it. In Edwardian times I would definitely have been rifling through the beetroot patch. During WWII I would have found myself a GI with a stash of rouge and nylons. So hopefully with the relaxing of some COVID rules imminent I will be reaching for the Chanel Nude or Cardinal Red or Flamingo Pink and showing off my lips in their full glory again. 😂😂

On a more serious note, I would like to acknowledge that COVID has been an absolute nightmare for a lot of family's and caused a great many bereavements much financial hardship, family separation, horrendous upset. So, I acknowledge that in no way wish cause upset or offence to anyone.

Big changes .....for BAG HEAVEN....and don't forget the MILK !

Big changes .....for BAG HEAVEN....and don't forget the MILK !

Well I have much to tell you if I am able to find five minutes to just STOP.....ever had that feeling when the whole world is working at a different speed?  The other day I went into the local shop for some milk and cake (yes essential shopping !)  and as I walked passed all the vegetables and fruit something / someone sucked all knowledge of why I was there right out if my head...MILK a very basic food commodity, now had it been toasted nigella seeds or artichokes in truffle oil then i could and would sympathise but milk ! !!! back to the point which is I have been very excited to tell you all about our new plans for BAG HEAVEN. We are really happy to say that we are expanding our WEBSHOP and putting all our time and efforts into it. This is great NEWS because we are taking all our brands with us and a few new ones too which makes us a very strong independent business. We are thrilled to bits. We hope you will continue to buy from us and now that I have told you and got all that out of my head I can remember to buy milk !

Walking our way through COVID

Walking our way through COVID

We have all been amazing throughout COVID and to be honest I think we have underestimated how well we have done. How our lives have changed. I am walking more now than I have ever done I  have legs like an Olympian. Seriously though don't you think one of the most positive things to come out of this very sad and dangerous situation is that we have taken to our walk ways, canal tow paths, open fields, country pathways  ....and it is great to see. We have sold so many more ROKA BACKPACKS AND CROSSBODY BAGS it has been hard keeping on top of the demand. I walk with some friends and we all love our backpack in fabulous colours...i think it cheers us up which is no bad thing. The colours of ROKA NEW COLLECTION is sensational. I shall be wearing my new ROKA burnt orange tomorrow...now that might cause a stir.

Walking in Sunshine

Walking in Sunshine

I hope you are enjoying the sunshine.....I know times are very hard for so many people right across the world...We have never experienced the like before and that is both sad and scary too. BUT we have to keep calm and carry on. Find joy wherever we can  be grateful for the sunshine.  Me and Mr Bag Heaven (Chris 😘) have taken this time to get to know our local area by taking long walks. For some reason we tend to ignore or not appreciate our local surroundings, the birdsong, the busy with life hedgerows. It is only at times like these that we actually look and see the beauty in our own neighbourhoods. Nature and wildlife, butterflies and bees are not only in the Home Counties but in the North too. Kate Humble and company don't have sole exclusivity to the hedgerows and nature. Walking has really been so enjoyable for us both, we pack a small flask, VIMTO and a snack plus for me an extra top, plasters, anti bacterial lotion ETC !!!! So I have got myself one of the NEW NICKY JAMES bags and I love it I love my mustard leather one and my orange ROKA too...see I am a woman of many bags 🤣😂🤣.

Adele at home

Adele at home

As you may be aware Bag Heaven Monton closed it's doors on 21st March so as i love to be in tkuch with you all I have been posting on my Instagram bagheaven_monton account and on Facebook.  It has been very different posting photographs of gorgeous bags taken in my garden and i  my home. As you know i border on being pretty obsessive about Bag Heaven so really having the bags ( not all 😂🤣) in our home feels right. It seems from your response that you too loved the change of scenery. I have taken a photo this morning for you of a fabulous cerulean blue YOSHI leather tote with an Easter sheep made by my very gorgeous  grandson. By the way the sheep is called Noodle after a sheep we got to know on a farm holiday we all went on las Easter.

COVID 19

COVID 19

COVID 19 well I wore some mascara and lipstick just for the hell of it this morning......whoa have I let myself go. I no longer have a wardrobe which I use but a neat reserved space on the floor ! I honestly dont think I have LOOKED into my wardrobes over these scary weeks. My outfits now are comfy, of a colour that hides stains and bring to mind a well used americanism-  Trailer Trash! ( without enjoying scrumptious doughnuts and gallons of chocolate milkshake). BUT I've enjoyed it because we are all in the same boat and we have to keep paddling. These last few weeks i think have been resolutely cathartic....we have realised what things in our lives are important. Health and the kindness of others. Yes I shall join the silliness along with the rest of you and make a dash for my makeup bag, dive into my wardrobe and open my treasured antique hamper which I keep my treasured handbags in. BUT i trust we all never forget these times.
