This is the time of year when invites to parties and weddings are abundant. We all do the same thing ...panic. Do I have something to wear, correction do I have something I want to wear ? The answer should be of course I have, I must have. A quick venture into the wardrobe that could rival Narnia for choice of outfits and revealed are lots of forgotten 'must haves' . For me a girl who likes a buffet weddings and 'feed me' occasions there is a more important accessory ...my handbag. I like a beautiful handbag that finishes off an outfit but which also has a wrist strap so I may hold a ladies drink and munch on a hog roast sausage roll at the same time. Also I must have a  bag which has a crossbody strap for dancing with Mr. Sleazball ( don't say that he is a member of the family ! ) It is true -handbag across my body leaving my arms free to divert any unwanted attention away from my bottom. Busy,busy,busy !!! I had a million and one things to do this morning and the more I though about it the less I achieved ! So I thought first things first make yourself more presentable hair like Father Ted and pyjamas which have long lost their Doris Day look ! The poor bin men this morning got a sight for sore eyes when I nipped out with the last thing to put in the bin.......I did a lady run, arms crossed and legs doing little fairy jumps .......do not run ....go back into the kitchen.....make a decision.....do not run....turn around and go back inside ! So I took good advice from myself and crept into the kitchen in an almost squat ! Tripped on spare slippers (long story will tell you another time ) in plain sight on the kitchen floor. Ok. Up the stairs I went and turned on the shower ( i like it to run hot - please do not judge me) picked up my toothbrush and paste.....funny smell......definitely not minty...definetly not spearmint......more like something else ......!!! Ever tried to brush your teeth with VEETO ??????? I had a smile to rival Rylan Clarke.......is there such a thing as hairy teeth ?

We are so excited now as it won't be long before the studio #adelebagsathome is open. We are planning to make it a lovely space to choose bags in....we certainly hope so, fingers crossed. Not sure when this happened ? but I always need a few extras when I am just going for a walk. What kind of extras you ask, well a full new packet of tissues , I don't have a cold ,I dom't have hayfever I am not susceptible to sudden nose bleeds all thos factors are not important because they are in the bag ! Then of course a neutral lipstick (essential), sweets ( just a couple),phone (essential), money and card and a million totally unnecessary loalty cards for stores I haven't bought from since I first got the cards. Mother's Day is coming which made me think about our new bag collections and also some of the wisdom passed on to me from my mum. When did women stop wearing panty girdles ? I can clearly recall my mum passing on some feminine wiles when I was about 19 years old or so and it went like this.  "Remember this, never go out without your lipstick on and always make sure you wear a panty girdle when your husband comes home from work ! And she always did. The lipstick I have always worn but the panty girdle never. Do you remember the television adverts for the 24 hour girdle ! They were tortuous to look at and am sure they were to wear too. How times have changed....ladies we have come a long way.... breathe in !!!

Well I started planning to be organized for Xmas sometime towards the beginning of September which I felt was realistic and achievable. After the many thoughts and ideas I had for gifts and new xmas decorations etc. I congratulated myself for being ahead of the game and ..... I put it on the back boiler......and before I knew it time had moved on and it was the end of October !! I fall for this EVERY year ! I NEVER learn that time passes quickly and I need to do Xmas NOW ! Why does it always creep up on me ? I'm no spring chicken infact I passed my forties when you could still buy a lipstick without the beauty consultant asking what your skin care regime is and giving you the sad eyes and kind smile !! Anyway it is nearly here and we have enough lights to illuminate the whole of Manchester including the Town Hall....none of them work or are the wrong shade of light ??? ( I like warm rosegold this Xmas :-) ). Anyway everything is going up tomorrow regardless ! Next year I am going to be better prepared........? We took our grandson out the other day to a really yummy popular ice cream parlour a drive away from where we live. As we attempted to park up somewhere fairly close to the parlour we noticed the queues snaked for a considerable way around the back of the building and along the road ! It was a hoit day, did I tell you that ? And us Brits when the sun i out we grab every chance to enjoy it and that means icecream. We parked up a walk away. We queued and queued and our grandson was getting impatient asking "are we nearly there yet " ...."Are we near the end yet ? " Finally we were served each with our choices of ice cream and secretly wishing we had chosen the flavour we always have ! We waited to cross over the road to get back to the car, licking the drips as we stood there. We croosed. We startted to walk and the icecream cornets were now beginning to melt and collapse. There was nothing we could do to stop the flow of raspberry ripple icecream and starmix and rhubarb crumble flavour..they were all melting onto the pavement creating the worst sticky mess ever. I tried to wipe our grandson's icecream and accidentally knocked the cornet to the ground. Can you imagine ??? Our grandson was really good about it, so we laughed. Maybe icecream and hot weather are not always a marriage made in heaven.

Well if you had told me a while ago that I would ever be in a chaotic scrum for clotted cream I would have sincerely thought you were bonkers! HELLO I was! And I would not let go of my shopping trolley until my hand was tightly wrapped around a precious carton of the Queen of all creams CLOTTED. I didn't care about price nor did I care that I nearly lost my sandal whilst in hot pursuit of a new box of the nectar being brought into the store. I swear this cream needed Kardashian sized bodyguards, it needed the full celeb entourage too...instead it was a brawl of sweaty, determined would be Queens of Afternoon Teas - not wearing tea dresses, wearing joggers...and a good job too! Did I get my Clotted Cream? I would love to say yes but I am afraid I lost my nerve when a woman with iron fists and a back the size of a barn door blocked my path (and to add insult to injury she had a horrible bag too!!! Anyway that is kind of besides the point). I had to serve double cream instead and do you know what, the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations was such a fabulous event that nobody realised and it really didn't matter one jot.

We are the best country in the world for putting on a specatular party and wasn't it a 'PARTY' with Prince Louie being the star attraction (after the Queen of course).
