BAG EVENT AT HOME

Ok so before you start to read this you may want to know that it is a long story....so you have been warned. As you know since we closed the BAG HEAVEN shop in Monton and had a showroom built at the side of our house I like to keep Saturdays free for customers to call and pop in. I knew I had a customer coming at about 10 am so I had a shower/washed hair. Whilst looking in my toiletry bag I came across a moisturising face mask sachet which promised the elixer of youth for a woman of my age ( roughly 40 ish ). The last time I used a face mask was when I was worrying about sitting my GSE's (you do the math) wearing a cool jumper and northern soul skirt I bought from Vivien Peters in Walkden - remember that shop? Anyway ..back to the mask. I looked at my watch lots of time to put it on before Lynn my customer was due. I applied the mask -didn't have the time or the glasses to read the instructions. I set to tidying the shop. There was a knock at the door, too early for my customer/ I opened it. It was a young lad, a delivery driver for Amazon - he gave me a smile (nice) and my parcel. I went into the showroom and rearranged some bags. Within a short time Lynn came, a really lovely woman who has bought from me for years. She chose ,we chatted, she paid and went to her car. I closed the door, within minutes the door knocked again. Lynn stood there........."Hi Lynn are you ok?" yes she said, " Adele we've just been talking about BAG HEAVEN at home being great BUT I really think you need to be like you used to be in your old shops. "Oh " I said I don't know what you mean....she looked uncomfortable and blurted out..."Well I don't think it looks very professional, wearing a face mask when you are serving" ......What!?  Lynn ...thank you. 

PHEW!  what a day...yesterday we held a BAG EVENT at home #adelebagsathome it was a spur of the moment thing so I was very surprised and humbled by the number of friends that came. Ladies came from after doing classes at the gym and some popped in on their way home. It was a brilliant day - we had a giggle, a glass of fizz and bought handbags - really a kinda perfect day for most women. I am lucky and know it.. I have made and kept customers for as long as 30 years plus and those women could very easily buy bags from anywhere but always choose to come back...thank you. I am pretty diabolical on some things I know and one of them is promoting my showroom with what the millenials call socials ....I never ever think of taking photos... maybe because we are always too busy having a chat, a glass of fizz and buying bags to stop and go into 'PROMOTION' mode .
