We’ll Christmas is over and Winter draws on ( actually I’m wearing mine now - less Julia Roberts and more Judi Dench! ). Seriously can not believe how quickly the time passes, is that age related do you think ? Think it is ....I’ve just watched the weather forecast ( of course on the BBC see I said it was age related ) and heard that snow is likely on Monday or Tuesday in the north, my initial response was, note to self get the thermals out .....and then after a minute or so ...”that will be great fun for my 2 year old grandson has he got a sledge 🛷?” I think this reaction is a phenomenon....’age delay’ truly I think it is,because I know I’m good fun and would love and enjoy playing in the snow with my grandson BUT there is a part of my brain that looks at the life numbers and decides to react in a negative way ......until that is,I quickly check myself. So my New Years resolution is to keep a check on that first response and have lots of fun in 2019. Enjoy the year ahead and have fun. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all. I hope you have a lovely happy and healthy year ahead. It seems only a moment ago when I was lumbering down the loft ladders with armfuls of Xmas decorations !! Next year they are going up on the 1st of December then at least I will feel I got the efforts worth (ps nobody looked in my pot cupboards/ under sink cupboard so why on Earth I clean them out before Xmas every year I don’t know BUT I guess it’s tradition.......passed from mother to daughter....it’s what we do before Xmas and I’ll probably do it until the day I die). I have to say I love my home on Christmas Eve, Xmas tree up,presents wrapped ,the smell of Xmas spice burning and then we light a log fire and the world feels right. It’s what we in our family call ‘Cosy Joe ‘ ( no idea why but we do ) .....So I hope you had a ‘Cosy Joe’ Xmas and  have a ‘Cosy Joe’ new year thank you for your continuing support, your custom and all the great chats we’ve had. Just a quick update on the festival of trees at Monton Unitarian Church over the weekend. It was a great success apparently and they raised lots of much need funds for the upkeep of the Grade 2 listed church building along with a big donation for the Mustard Tree food bank. We went along yesterday morning before we opened the shop at 10am. Rev Anna had a Christmas singalong for 1/2 hour. It was great and got us right into the festive spirit.

We hope you like our handbag Christmas tree 🎄👜. (I’m a Blue Peter child of the sixties 😂). Yes it would have been much easier just to go out and buy the baubles but as this was a Monton Church event I thought it would give a personal touch to sit and cut out over 40 handbag and 10 bauble shapes from glitter card (yes the glitter gets everywhere!!!!) AND then write a different sentiment or Xmas related word on the back of each one in coordinating felt tip pen .........(no I’m not a control freak 😂) We put the tree up in the Monton Unitarian Church last night after work at 7.30 when hand on heart I would have preferred to be at home watching the tv or in the bath......BUT here’s the thing it made us feel good, in fact it made us feel great. It really did .....and isn’t that really the spirit of Christmas? We hope you have a lovely weekend.🎄

Does anybody else remember going to Manchester on an annual Xmas outing without their parents to look at the fabulous Christmas window displays the department stores created ? 

My husband will laugh and say I shouldn’t be let out without a responsible parent or guardian but I swear I genuinely don’t know how it happens...
