Monkey Puzzle Tree Dilemma

I think we have all really enjoyed walking during these trying times. Unfortunately my legs only work on a long walk if my joints are lubricated by a bag of toffees and I mean 'proper toffees' those that stick to your teeth 'this toffee is going to cost my dental work dearly' of yesteryear kind of toffees. And note i said toffees and not CANDY. Where did that come from? Toffee has always been the British label and definitely NOT candy. Anyway so back to the story when walking with Mr. BAG HEAVEN we always love to look at the trees and pretty hedgerows, hand on heart he is much better at identifying birds and trees whilst I am better at naming the flowers and fauna .....Yes we are now at that age!! We saw a 'monkey puzzle tree' and wondered why on earth anybody would choose to buy and plant such a hideous tree? We compared the statuesque beauty of oaks and birches. Genuinely we puzzled over the merits or lack of them for the whole of the walk and could only conclude that like everything in life beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I don't think I could ever see the beauty in a Monkey Puzzle Tree. ( Araucaria araucana).
