So, I'm not sure after a fabulous summer (apart from the yellowed dry grass and sweaty nights) we seem to have run full pelt into autumn ?The trees are prematurely shedding leaves and our beautiful Acer tree has charred,crispy leaves ...are we to climb into the attic, delve under the spare bed and pull our wollens out? Not sure yet. I really don't want to give into the next season, but the nights are definitely drawing in and I am now taking the new season's stock which was ordered almost a year ago. It is fabulous. It made me think about the last 37 years of being Adele Bags BAG HEAVEN it is a long time and I have always loved it. Even now when I am working from my new shop at home the pleasure of a customer calling is always a thrill. I wonder what colours they will choose, what style. It is a little mind game I play with myself, I try to second guess just what they will choose. Will it be #yoshi #POM #Davidjones #LUA #ROKA ......I truly hope you will like the new stock as it starts to be loaded onto the website. Hey how are you doing...don't ask me or you may be sorry! What a day I had on Wednesday I had finished my yoga class ( I know very posh!...not) and planned to go home and potter around the garden until my first customer of the day called. She was due at 11.30am so I had plenty of time. I pottered about doing pottering things to the garden and thought I should take my outdoor shoes and gardening gloves off. I was ready to go into the showroom closed the french doors ( do we still call them that? well you know what I mean) and very quickly realised that I didn't have a key with me! I could see the key and the key could see me.....BUT no movement there ...so I decided to try to climb on top of the wheelie bin to access the house from the front which I did have keys for. No can do , each time i tried to climb on top of the bin it moved. Time was moving on and my loyal, great fun customer was due. Nothing else for it.. I climbed on top of my grandaughter's wheelbarrow and hitched myself on top of the bin and over the 6 foot gate- just in the nick of time. Thankfully she laughed and we laughed and later that day I looked into the mirror to see that my hair was matted with dead conifer leaves. That is what I call good customer service! Each year when this special day arrives I always think of those who are touched in different ways by this celebration. For some it brings great memories and sadness and for others they feel supremely blessed to be a mum of loved pets or a person who has been like a mum to them and for me all of that is wonderful....celebrate the day in which ever way you see appropriate for you.
